Room Design
THE FAN
As this family prepared to transition their son into his own room, they sought a design that would remain relevant as he matured. The creative spark for the project came from a Brunschwig & Fils wallpaper adored by the homeowner.
To develop a cohesive aesthetic, we curated a selection of coordinating samples for bedding and bespoke window treatments. Additionally, we consulted on the selection of a bed frame, casegoods and light fixture, ensuring both were appropriately sized and aesthetically aligned with the overall vision.
The project culminated in a whimsical yet sophisticated boy's bedroom that offers the flexibility to evolve alongside him through the years.
Design Plan
DUPONT CIRCLE
The project began with a completely vacant apartment. The client provided us with a floor plan from the real estate listing as well as pictures. With a clear budget and style goals, we designed a multi-zone furniture layout optimized for dining, relaxation, and social gatherings. Our strategy emphasized retail selections, empowering the client to manage her own procurement with certainty regarding finishes and dimensions. We sourced items from a diverse range of resources ranging from Etsy to World Market, West Elm, Anthropologie and Pottery Barn.
We delivered a polished plan for a cohesive living space tailored for a professional lifestyle. The design features pet-friendly durability for her puppy while remaining sophisticated enough for hosting guests.
Renovation
BON AIR
Midway through construction of an addition for a sunroom and first-floor primary suite, these homeowners found themselves burdened by decision fatigue and the sheer scale of the project.
We provided a structured framework and design vocabulary to help the couple align their individual styles and move past their overwhelm. We streamlined the remaining selections by providing guidance on lighting and paint colors.
Lastly, we provided procurement services for exclusive, Jaipur Living rugs the homeowner had fallen in love with and oversaw the professional installation of durable, high-end valances and blackout shades tailored for their new bedroom. The final result is a functional and enduring retreat.
Design Refresh (in progress)
WINDSOR FARMS
While the kitchen boasted a timeless design, a decade of daily use had left the soft goods looking worn. Despite searching for several years, the homeowner had struggled to find new fabric options that felt truly compelling.
The transformation began with a discovery phase and consultation to explore diverse fabric styles and palettes. A distinctive pattern from KK Harris served as our creative catalyst, leading us to develop a scheme inspired by the subtle green tones in the existing kitchen tiles. To enhance the room's warmth, we commissioned a custom wool rug that integrated the owner's preferred blue hues. We plan to refresh the antique dining chairs with a textured performance fabric and updated the stools using an organic botanical print accented with jade trim.
When this refresh is complete, the kitchen will be a revitalized space, perfectly equipped for another ten years of everyday family meals and festive gatherings.
